Report # 235
Case : House Valenmour – Terhil Myrlaugur
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
With the defeat of Monarch Myrlaugur, House Valenmour has effectively been terminated. Any remaining Chaos aligned forces have either been exterminated or have fled. I have already dispatched Task Force 12 from the 53rd Fleet to hunt them down.
On the subject of Kenavera, scout ships report the planet has been lost to the warp, likely an intentional side effect of the proliferation of daemons within House Valenmour. Thus exterminatus orders have been rescinded.
As for Reeta Kurernias, miraculously she survived the encounter with Terhil Myrlaugur and has been transferred aboard my ship. She currently remains in a tightly guarded cell with no risk of escape. Despite her background, I have decided to keep her alive for the time being. Her insider knowledge has proven invaluable to the understanding of House Valenmour’s fall to Chaos and subsequent regicide. I will remain in full authority of the prisoner, her responsibility is mine and mine only, by right of the Inquisitorial Code 231-3167 section C ‘Prisoners’ subsection 3b.
The case of Zareen Batal is similar, she has shown herself to be willing of sacrifice in the name of excising Chaos. As an excellent member of my retinue, her service will remain my responsibility. Any accusations of Chaos taint will be dealt with the same way I handled ex-Inquisitor Rorkon—without mercy.
However, with the unfortunate loss of the Castigator Knight Alekto, all further investigation into the Knight’s peculiarities are hereby terminated.
With that, the case of House Valenmour is formally closed.
Additae: As for Terhil Mylaugur, his ascension to daemonhood will forever present the possibility of returning in some manner, to which I advise anyone that comes in contact with him to proceed with utmost caution.
Inquisitor Phoebe, Ordo Malleus

With her report finished, Phoebe switched off the cogitator before her.
“Finally done? It’s been hours.” Yawned Zareen, slouching on the room’s bed.
“Would you rather I task you with writing my reports?”
“Never mind I yield.” She chuckled.
“That’s my obedient little Knight.”
“Hey hey at least take me out to dinner first.”
“How about instead you put on some clothes and come follow me to the hangar?”
“It’s here!?” leaping out of the bed with unbridled joy.
“Perhaps.” Smiled the Inquisitor.
“Throne Lilith! We need to go now! I can’t wait any longer!”
“Well get dressed then.”
Zareen scoured for spare clothes, hers or not she cared not. Once dressed enough, she bolted for the door and ran in direction of a familiar hangar. Phoebe followed at a steady pace, knowing Zareen would still wait at the elevator.
“Come on, move!” As she slammed the elevator key once the duo was aboard.
“You should see yourself” Lilith snickered.
“You know how long I’ve waited for this!”
“Five weeks and three days.”
“EXACTLY!”
Finally lift reached the vaunted hangar, just as the doors began opening, Zareen’s squeezed through and ran off once more.
There in the middle of the hangar stood a metal giant. Armor freshly coated in durable paint, and machinery lubricated to a perfectly smooth operation. The hunched figure dwarfed everything else, it was the sole exhibition of the Omnissiah’s brilliance.
A Questoris Warden Pattern Knight.
As Zareen arrived at its feet, she stared upwards at the slumbering giant, her amber eyes wide with awe.
“Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get a hold of a free Castigator, I hope this will suffice for you.” Spoke Phoebe from behind her.
“Are you serious!? I’ll take anything! I’ve missed this so much!”
“It might take a little getting used to but I trust in your skills.”
Zareen beamed. “Give me a week—I’ll be the best Warden pilot in the sector!”
As Zareen spun around the Knight, inspecting every corner of it, a cohort arrived, the rest of her family.
“Can we really trust Zee with another Knight, she trashed the other one?” Opened Gastel, chuckling at his own joke.
“Little too soon, Gastel” Replied Talleia, knocking her elbow into him.
“I for one am looking forward to working on a Knight once more / Alekto was truly fascinating” Continued Bellegymere, his mechadendrites twitching in unison.
“It is a pleasure seeing Zareen smiling so as well.” Added Sasin.
“It’ll feel sluggish at first, consider doing wide movements to get your bearings faster.” A new voice—but one Zareen had heard before.
“Wh— Reeta?” She asked, poking her head out from behind the Knight’s foot.
There stood the new figure, a woman with a battle-torn face, her eyes a blazing red with dark ginger hair. She wore standard fatigues with cuffed hands.
“With her cooperation, I’ve allowed her some relative freedom. Plus she’s perfect to coach you.” Answered Phoebe.
“I see. Well thanks for the advice, I’ll definitely need it now that—he’s gone.”
“If one day, I too can pilot once more, I’ll part ways with my knowledge” Continued Reeta.
Little by little, normalcy returned to the retinue, finally recovering from the Valenmour ordeal.
“Let’s make her proud.”
The words hung heavy—not just for Alekto, but for what came next.
